Triphala is an Ayurvedic Herb that is actually a combo of the extracts from three different trees native to India. It is very effective for IBS constipation symptoms and isn’t ‘habit forming’ unlike many laxatives that can cause the gut to get dependent on them.
Triphala Benefits For IBS Constipation
It’s important to purchase a good quality product because and make sure it is organic triphala because of the rampant use of pesticides on conventional Indian crops and cultivated trees. I use triphala in people with IBS constipation (IBS-C) to get a more regular schedule and then they can ween off once they’ve become regular.
I use an integrative approach to IBS, tackling it from all angles, and have had huge success in treating IBS and getting even severe IBS sufferers symptom free with this approach, because IBS is multifactorial and not caused by one single same thing for every person–that’s why conventional medicine has a very hard time treating it and has no good treatment options, and even just relying on supplements isn’t enough for most people with bad IBS symptoms.
But as part of my Integrative Medicine approach, triphala is a great tool for the constipation type IBS! You can find out more about how to get relief from your IBS here.
